Notice in the new pictures the crown built on top to serve as the base for the huge clock, they finished it in days, very fast

311 days for Jabal Omar to finish!

Just discovered the tunnel below Abraj Albait's main entrance

There's something so monumental about this building... but at the same time it gives off this Las Vegas "NY,NY" hotel feeling that sort of ruins it.

Salam everyone

these information are taken from the EMAAR project Brochure, and I wanted to share it with you.

My apologies if already published.

The most precious place on earth...

O Our Lord! I have made some of my offspring to dwell in an uncultivable valley by Your
Sacred House
(Quraan, Abraham, Verse 37)

As Abraham (PBUH) took his first steps away from the deserted valley, Hagar was at peace knowing that God had commanded her husband to go on this journey and therefore, the Almighty would not abandon her and her
son, Ishmael (PBUH).
Upon reaching the other side of the mountain, Abraham prayed and God the Almighty answered with springs of Zamzam water pouring forth into the sacred valley from under Ishmael’s feet.

The Holy journey had just begun.

…and the Ancient House grows stronger with every believer’s step

“And We commanded Abraham and Ishmael that they should purify My House for those who are
circumambulating it, or staying, or bowing or prostrating themselves”
(Quraan, Al-Baqarah, Verse 125)

The history of the Ancient House is never-ending and the names of those who have built it are many. The Angels were the first to bless the Holy Land, followed by Adam, then his son Sheeth, then Abraham and Ishmael, the Giants, Jerhum, Qusai Bin Kelab, Quraish, Abdullah Bin Al Zubair in 65 Hijri, Al Hajjaj Bin Yousef El Thaqafi in 74 Hijri, followed by the Sultan Muraad Al Othmani in 1040 Hijri, and the late King Fahed Bin Abdul Aziz in 1417 Hijri.

Makkah. Bakkah. Ma’aad. The Holy Land. The Ancient House. Al Masjed Al Haraam.

The birthplace of Islam, the source from which inspiration came forth and the Holy Quraan was revealed; a prayer in this Holy Land is everlasting.
Prophet Mohamed (PBUH) proclaimed its residents “Men of God” eternally blessed for they inhabit “a great land, one most loved by God the Almighty.”

The hearts of men are forever captivated by this Holy Land

“And proclaim to mankind the Hajj. They will come to you on foot and on every lean camel,
they will come from every deep and distant mountain highway.”
(Quraan, Al-Hajj, Verse 27)

Millions of worshippers gather at the blessed site for Hajj and Umra every year, yet it remains a distant journey that many more Muslims long to make.

Its sight alone inspires awe and piety as the faithful stare for all eternity

As faithful Muslims journey to the Holy Land, they each contribute in their own way to its charm. The current gateway that welcomes believers to the city is a gift from the late King Khaled Bin Abdul Aziz and is made of the purest gold.
The intricacies of the Kaaba’s covering only reveal themselves to the discerning eye. Islamic ornaments and Quraanic verses made of gold-plated silver threads stretch over 670 Kg of the finest natural silk; More than 240 workers and artists help maintain this amazing work daily.

“The Black Stone came down from Heaven and it was as white as milk.
Human sins turned it black.”
Al-Tarmazi

The Black Stone is located in the southeast part of the Kaaba.

“Zamzam water gives you what you ask of it.” Ibn Majeh

Zamzam water is the purest water on earth. Considered the most precious gift a faithful Muslim can receive from someone who has performed Hajj, Zamzam water was brought forth from under Ishmael’s feet and was used to wash the heart of Prophet Mohamed (PBUH).
It has been said that the sources of Zamzam water produce between 11 and 18.5 litres each second.

Roaming the earth wouldn’t be as moving as a single turn around the Holy Land

A sight that every believer dreams of seeing at least once

As your eyes gaze upon the breathtaking view, your heart is caught in everlasting praise for God the Almighty at one of the most sacred locations on earth. Part of the Development of King Abdul Aziz Endowment for the Two Holy Mosques, Abraj Al Bait, located directly on the Haram Plaza, is a place where prayers rise above everything else.

Thanks

It's so massive, so much detail. They don't make them like this any more. It seems like a rip of Big Ben and ESB... Lucky Islam.

It's so big that it actually looks shorter than 600 meters. Great addition to Mecca
