^ could I ask about the source of your information? or it's just a "wild" guess?
I'm sure it's just a wild guess (very very wild )

This project has become more attractive to me over the months. At first it just seemed similar to some overgrown Las Vegas style hotel but after seeing some of the architectural details I've become very impressed with the whole project. Even the giant clock is starting to grow on me and the spire on the top makes a big difference. It seems like they haven't spared any expense to build this project. If I was ever able to visit it I probably wouldn't mention the fact that I'm an atheist though. In any case I think we should leave politics and religion out of this thread because those aren't the sort of topics that this forum is about.

I wonder if this is the only Supertall project surrounding the mosque? Are they going to plan for more supertall structures near the sacred site in the future?

I think that is very possible to happen in the next years due to the inflow of people that visit the mosque

It's only realistic if you take into account the size of the population. You will always have a certain percentage (closeted or not) in any culture, no matter how deep the indoctrination.

Wow that looks magnificent, it's like the entrance gates and road to the Abraj Al-Bait.

I haven't seen it before, is it new or just a repost?

I love these huge projects, they actually make Mecca look like the grand Islamic city it is, not the collection of plain concrete high-rises that surround the mosque right now.

I was there during Hajj, a lot of the land around the mosques by the intercontinental hotel has been flattened, there are a few poster showing the new building that are going to be built and most of them seem to be tall building I don’t think I saw any super tall project but I might be wrong.
