This building is massive, but I have to say it ruins the area. How on earth did the authority allow such monstrosity be built next to the holiest place for muslims.

Nice projects but is it suitable for poor people coming for Hajj?

Rich or middle class = you can stay in the hotel next to kabba

if you are poor = you have to travel 30 miles to reach the hotel from kabba...

No because usually people with bad tastes are those with oil rigs in their backyards

I like how all the people saying its "tasteless", "ruins the city", with typical digs at Arab oil, etc. as if the mosque is surrounded by architectural masterpieces at the moment.

IMO Mecca has been "ruined" for the last half century and so by surrounding the holiest site in Islam with all these bland Third World highrises, and projects like Abraj al Bait are steps towards fixing the damage.

I guess it is amazing....it would be better if they built two of them, side by side. People flying into the city could look out the windows and shout "Look! That is the breast building I've ever seen!"

will it ever come to pass, that people who comment in this topic leave their prejudices and hate for Saudi Arabia and it's culture out of their posts and honestly comment just like any other project??
