Premier Composite Technologies will also laminate the Epoxy glassfibre foam sandwich clock faces that each measure 43m diameter. The massive clock hands, measuring 23m in length, will be produced from carbon fibre prepegs.

The Tower will be covered in Italian mosaic titles, 13,000 of which are made from real gold. 700,000 LED lights will also be integrated into the composite cladding to light up the clock face by night.

To date, Premier Composite Technologies has dedicated over 40,000 square feet of their recently expanded facilities to the tiling and LED works for the tower.

The clock should look good by day. But with all those LEDs, at night it'll have all the grace and subtlety of a Las Vegas casino.

I'm surprised I actually like these buildings anywhere else they would look out of place but they look great in Mecca. I would go to Mecca solely to see these buildings, but im not muslim so I guess I cant go.

Why not?
You're not allowed to enter Mecca if you're not Muslim?
If that's true, it's not right. That's discrimination.
They shouldn't prevent anyone from visiting this masterpiece of engineering.
I bet this building will just overwhelm the senses in person!

They should allow people to go to Mecca. This "grandeur" of a structure might convert some people.

the building doesn't actually have any religious significance, Makkah is a city for worship not shopping and having a chocolate bath, but thats another issue, we need accommodation and this is going to provide it and the top it for Islamic astronomy research

Which ever causes the builders the fewest problems

I'm curious to see now that you asked.
