Can't wait for the clock installation.

Yes a lot of "western buildings" have been inspired by old Islamic architecture.
That is a complement.

Also I dont know about you but these towers put together look like one giant middle finger sign.
i think whenever an expansion is needed, the buildings will give way to it, whether big or small. many tall buildings have been demolished in expanding the Mosque before. same goes with this. when the time comes and the need arise, this building will also be demolished. it could take little long but will happen in time. no building stays forever.

and if you ever visited Makkah, you would see that the Grand Mosque sits in a valley surrounded by mountains. all the mountains around it is taller than the Mosque it self. and the mountains are full of houses and tall hotels. so i guess there is nothing wrong in building a supertall in the vicinity. it actually is helpful in some cases. as you would know, in Makkah the direction of Qibla is different in each part of the city. and the Minarets of the Grand Mosque is not visible until you come pretty close because of the reasons i stated above. now with this building anyone can pinpoint the direction of Kaaba when in Makkah. because it is taller than the mountains nearby and is visible from tens of kilometers and it is close to Kaaba.

Actually, I believe that the continuing expansions are ridiculous. Expansions HAVE to stop at some point as the number of Muslims is eternally growing..
What's next ? Flatten the whole city so that it fits the 1.6 Billion Muslims ?

Plus, I believe it's a huge waste of money which the Saudi government isn't responsible for. We have citizens to feed and educate, that money can be more helpful if it was put in developing those fields.

P.S Sorry for being off topic.. I just felt the urge to respond
