I hate to go off topic but Muslims aren't prohibited from visiting Vatican City why would they be?. This buildings is so amazing can't wait to see it done.

whats that hole? may be they throw brick after brick in that hole and from ground level the workers get the debris out?

it is Maqaber al Mualla (مقابر المعلاء)

thats where the Prophet's (peace be upon him) wife, Khadijah was buried.
and i heard this cemetry is still in use.

climbing any mountain could be easier. i had to go through narrow alleys (stair cases actually) and ask people how i get on top of that mountain, lol.

btw, i started from that main road that cuts through the cemetery, from the right side of it, through the houses. it was like a maze. and to make it more difficult, the temperature was 45 degrees.
i had Google Maps in my cellphone but the alleys were too narrow to be seen. so i had to ask people which way it is to the top.

Everytime i went to Makkah i wanted to know, but didn't have time. Are they the orginal Makkawan familes?

i have no idea. the few people i saw were Arab kids and one Saudi man, a women pilgrim, four or five Bangladeshi workers. i saw some of those houses were abandoned, with doors open.

in 2004 i climbed Jabal Khandamah, the mountain right next to the Palace. and i saw African immigrants (overstayers??) there, no Arabs.
