One thing is for sure.......whether or not everyone realises religions are just old fairytales to keep people under control at least they will be able to tell the time.......
PS........I am happy for people to have whatever faith they have it it helps them live their lives in peace..........wonder if a bigger clock is in paradise ?

If I understand it correctly, time does not exist in heaven. No past, no future, everything is simply forever. So if you arrive in paradise and meet your grandfather, he won't say that he has waited for you for years since he died, because he will just have arrived just like you, but will also have been there forever, and you'll have been there forever as well. Doesn't make sense to try to explain it in worldly terms of course, timelessness is a complicated and a seemingly paradoxical concept.

it's again today on Al-eqtesadeyya newspaper:
Quote:
it says:
(The Makkah clock in the world biggest clock with a diameter of 40 m, setting on the height of more than 400 m from the ground level, where the height from the bottom of the clock until the end of the crescent moon is 251m)

I'm really confused now

Source

by the way:
the clock started working this morning at 00:00 (M.M.T) "Makkah Mean Time" the 11th of August 2010 =21:00 (G.M.T) 10th of August 2010

Quote:

That seems to be some poor math on their part. >400m + 251m = >651m. Even if "setting on the height of more than 400m from ground level" meant that the top of the clock is above 400m, that would still be >400m - 40m + 251m = >611m.
