It must be hard finding their footwear amongst 3 million other pairs once they leave

It's a nightmare!
A lot of people keep them in a bag with them though so they don't get lost or robbed.

there are numbered racks inside and outside the Grand Mosque for keeping the footwear, still, sometimes it gets lost . and many people keep their footwear in a bag with them.

I've couple of questions, hopefully someone will have time to answer:

- What is the correct pronunciation of Abraj Al-Bait? (My guess would be 'Ab-raaj Al-bate'? Sorry I don't know the correct way to write phonetics, so my guess might not be an accurate representation of what I think I an saying!)

- Can someone give me the names of all the major construction projects for Mecca (current and planned), and give links to their discussion pages here (if they have them)? I know there is the massive complex that will go up behind Abraj Al-Bait (mentioned here a little while back), and that there is also a transport hub(?). I think I also remember seeing plans for--what looked like--an almost total redevelopment of the city?

Thank you!

Well, I think that might perhaps be because:

a) it is a hotel
b) on completion it will be the largest hotel in the world

That's a good reasoning I guess.

It's in the middle of a desert....near our UFO base.

Back to the topic of the construction of this tower, please.

Less likely then in your local swimming pool. Most of these people wear open sandals in their daily life, therefore are less likely to develop athlete's foot then us who wear closed shoes and sox most of the day (and night)

BTW, it looks like there will be no clock at the back side so only 3 in total me think.
