On 16 October they turned ON the lights on "Allah-u-Akbar" With the green background (unfortunately asyiqul huur was on vacation on 15 and 16-I think). But they didn't tun them on yesterday. I guess they were testing.

In both of your diagrams, the final hight says "591m" which is wrong :p

Or maybe you refuse to believe that the tower might actually turn out to be smaller than 601 meters. What's the source for 601 meters anyway?

I think it was meant to be 591m tall and they added a ball below the crescent pushing it 10m taller but don't quote me on this.

Wiki agrees with me: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Abraj_Al_Bait_Towers The highest residential floor will be at 450 m (1,480 ft), just below the clocks. The clock faces will be 43 × 43 m (141 × 141 ft), the largest in the world. The roof of the clocks will be 530 m (1,740 ft) above the ground, making them the world's most elevated architectural clocks. A 71 m (233 ft) tall spire will be added on top of the clock giving it a total height of 601 m (1,972 ft), which will make it the second tallest building in the world when completed. oh and check the old renders with the new one (it says 601 = ٦٠١) there is an increase under the base of the clock as well

![]() ![]() I didn't change the height because it was not meant to be shared with the broad eyes of skyscrapercity, and besides its hard. But since it has started a stupid discussion, I'll change it. @CULWULLA: If you don't mind, I will change it completely so that it looks completely different from yours. And don't get it wrong. I made it just to show daily construction update, not monthly. It was never meant for this forum. Sorry

Ironically, I'm the one who also added most of the content on the wikipedia's article on Abraj-al-Bait. :P

Latest NEWS:
Now that the left clock is FINISHED ( ), and after the tested the lights on "Allah-u-Akbar" on 16 october, they tested the lights on the right clock yesterday (and I have some pics). I think they also tested clock's hands. Sadly AGAIN, asyiqul huur probably wasn't there to capture beauty
