Okay... but Dubai's Al Yaqoub Tower gets the price for most impudent Big Ben rip-off, and thus deserves that name. So if anything Abraj Al-Bait could be nicknamed "Ben XXXL".

Whatever... cool to see the steel skeleton grow faster recently, the building is taller now than former World's tallest Sears/Willis Tower including antennas.

INFO: Big Ben is the nickname for the ''Great Bell'' inside the clock tower at the Palace of Westminter in London who ''ring'' at every hour.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Big_Ben

Inside the Mecca Clock Tower, there is ''NO BELL'' ...so lets have a nickname for it without ''Ben''!

Honestly I don't see any similarity between Makkah Clock and big ben. You'd have to draw the Makkah clock tower in its outlines to compare it to big ben. I think Makkah Clock Tower or MCT is the perfect nick name

When Abraj Al-Bait is finished, will they serve Earl Grey with a drop of milk for the pilgrims sleeping there?

Honestly: Big Ben and After Eight was only my first thought.
But I think the green has something to do with the green in the saudi-arabian flag?

I'm confused, the third clock face is racing to completion FASTER than the second clock face, it even started operating early. What took them so long on the second clock face??
