Put aside religion for a minute, and just think about it from an objective secular viewpoint; Just as Catholics generally do with their Cathedrals, and Mormons do with their Temples, Muslims generally put an incredible amount of artistic effort into making their Mosques very elaborate and ornate. They're almost always very beautiful structures to behold.

Don't let religion taint and detract from your ability to just enjoy the architecture of the building.

That's a bit tricky....The Saudis won't even let you anywhere near it if you don't practise their "religion".

Putting religion aside, imo the mosque bears no value of beauty or architectural intelligence whatsoever.

This applies to quite many mosques around the world, including this very one's twin in Medina, but it certainly doesn't apply to it.

tallest tower..biggest clock..largest mosque.. although i am not Muslim..i really appreciate their architecture..even for the sake of religion or just building great enginerring feats..st. peters square is 400-500 yrs old..i have not been there i dont know the capacity. but this mosque will accomodate more than 4 million max when done..

go back up the page and look at the render.
it appears that the balls will easily fit around the steel at the current top, which shows how huge they are!
starting the triangle lattice around the large ball. should look good with the glass

I kinda like the way the telecommunication antennas are on the surface, but kind of concealed by the design. Nice.
