Design of building is nice, but why is it built there?

It is mainly to house the thousands of pilgrims to Mecca. Since it is so close to the Kabbah, it is convenient to stay there and then go to worship.

So basicly it is a hotel for the people who come to pray at the religious place. And clock tower is so they know what time to go pray, i saw that you can see tower from far away so i got that idea. It is corect?

The deisgn of the building turned out to be good. First, I thought it's going to be horrible because of too many decorations. I guess I got it wrong. Any completion date for this? Are there some delays or is it going to be completed early?

i think the clock tower is more about aesthetic reasons, then really knowing the time.

I think this looks simply amazing. A hundred years from now if you tell people this was built in medieval days they would believe that i think! The architecture is just stunning, a real masterpiece. A city like Dubai should built more in this style to make that city feel more historical and friendly!

But Dubai really isn't a 'historical city' per se. The VAST majority of it's growth has been within the past few decades, and only consisted of very small settlements prior to this. So it should not try to be historical in my mind. It should stay on the cutting edge of creativity and architectural ideas like its doing now.

+1.
Comparing Mecca (a city extending six millennia in history) to Dubai is wrong on so many levels.
