Topped out? Don't think so - why should they skip the final crescent? Such a circular stairway might be enough to crown a wooden look-out in the Black Forest, but not the Royal Clock Tower of Mecca.

Definately doesn't look like a wooden look-out to me

fast demolition would've caused a lot of dust and noise and taken a lot of spacer for trucks and diggers. now we don't want that metres away from Haram, do we?

I know the reasons why it takes that long...but we can say that it was a very-slow-demolition compare to others in Makkah.

what about all the digging out of whole mountains to expand the Grand Mosque? once i was very disappointed when i found the whole area filled with dust from that site and could not take a good picture.
they could as well bring down that building in one shot. i don't think it is the dust they are concerned about.

Isn't it the binladen construction company doing this? Maybe they should have arranged for somebody to fly a plane into it. The Saudi's are good at that.

Nah, the fires may spread onto Abraj Al-Bait and bring the concrete and steel structures down which would be hilarious to watch. Again
