Back on topic, is the staircase temporary, or is the crescent being placed on the center pole of the staircase, or are they going to continue to erect the steel ribbing on the outside of the staircase for the crescent?

I don't think so, as the rest of the complex complements the tower to a certain degree, as well as the landscape. With 101, there is nothing around it at all.
Also, there are to be several other clusters to be built behind it, including a cluster with two supertalls called Rawabi Abraj Al Bait. Here's the thread:

Unfortunately said thread hasn't been updated in many months.

In my country a flag on top of a structure means the heighest point is reached.
Would be strange with this one considering there are two "heighest points" while I only see one now. But couldn't this mean it's T/O.

Or is it just some Galatasaray fan's stunt.

It looks like the spiral staircase will be inside the two balls and the top of the staircase will be the same height as the bottom of the crescent. Is this correct?

I'll be in KSA by June and there's a rather high possibility I'll be visiting Mecca in August, I really hope the Crescent would be in place by then!

it helps if you concentrate on the arms rather than the poles, some cranes are hiding behind others
