دكت معدات القطع الصخري أقدم برج استثماري مقابل للحرم المكي من الجهة الجنوبية التي تعتبر أغلى منطقة استثمارية في الكرة الأرضية، حيث يصل سعر المتر الواحد إلى 800 ألف ريال.

وتعيد إزالة البرج القديم ذكرى تاريخية ومفصلا مهما في تاريخ الحرم المكي، حيث جرى تنفيذ توسعة الملك فهد بن عبدالعزيز للحرم المكي في العام 1409هـ، وتبلغ مساحة أدوار توسعة الحرم 76 ألف متر مربع، وبسعة تصل إلى 152 ألف مصل، وتزامن بناء البرج مع تنفيذ التوسعة التي بلغت تكاليفها 7 مليارات ريال.

ويقع البرج الاستثماري الذي يودع المركزية بعد 24 عاماً على مساحة 175م2 تقريباً ويبتعد عن باب الملك عبدالعزيز بنحو 120 مترا فيما لا يتجاوز بعده عن الكعبة المشرفة من 230م.

وتعود ملكية البرج لورثة الشيخ إبراهيم العنقري مستشار الملك فهد الذي توفي في محرم العام 1429هـ.

ويقول العقاري في المنطقة المركزية إبراهيم بن ناصر اليامي إن سعر المتر الواحد في منطقة «قوس المليارات» على حد تعبيره يتراوح ما بين 500 إلى 700 ألف ريال كونها المنطقة الأفخم بوجود أكبر وأغلى خمس تجمعات تجارية استثمارية في العالم العربي وهي أبراج البيت وفندق التوحيد ومشروع مكة ومشروع جبل عمر وأبراج الصفوة حيث تعتبر هذه المنطقة الآن المنطقة المفتوحة مباشرة بين المراكز التجارية وبين ساحات الحرم المكي حيث تنفتح على مساحة 76 ألف متر مربع.
