Today there were some amazing lights on the clock tower. White crescent balls and yellow-orange lights on both sides of the "Allah-u-akbar" banner above the front clock.
They were lit at maghrib and can still be seen

never say never. i think it will stay the tallest clock tower and tallest clock on a clock tower for long but i can imagine people making a bigger clock near ground one day.

وتشير الإضاءة إلى دخول وقت الصلوات في العاصمة المقدسة، كما تمكن هذه الإشارات الضوئية ذوي الاحتياجات الخاصة من صم وبكم وضعيفي السمع، أو الذين يتواجدون في مواقع تبعد عن ساحات المسجد الحرام من معرفة دخول وقت الصلاة عبر الإشعاعات الضوئية المتواجدة في ساعة المسجد الحرام.
