I do not like this building at all. It's extremely ugly!

I don't know who is us and they, but I know I will be using the right spelling as long as I'm alive and breathing.

It's a pretty poor comparison anyways. The situations are very different.
"Mecca" is the original spelling and has always been and isn't a forced product of colonization. If anything, the "Makkah" spelling is the one that should be equated to "Bombay" not the other way around.

Roukaya19, Minba: Thanks, I'll start the other towers now.
In the mean time, I preformed Umrah today and would like to share some updates (I went there without a camera, AGAIN) :

There's a difference between a city actually changing its name, and another language having its own spelling.

A flight to London, from Spain, for example, would list the destination as Londres.

Some cities do have their old names retained overseas long after a name has changed in that country though. The capital of Thailand, for example, is not called Bangkok any more. Then again, it's a little easier to remember than the offcial "new" name of "Krung Thep Mahanakhon Amon Rattanakosin Mahintharayutthaya Mahadilok Phop Noppharat Ratchathani Burirom Udomratchaniwet Mahasathan Amon Phiman Awatan Sathit Sakkathattiya Witsanukam Prasit"
