~THE END~

Previously I shared some pictures I took on the national day, we actually planned for this trip on that day, but our escort told us to postpone it to the next friday (i. e. the last friday). So as planned, we went there with full intentions of going to the tip of the crescent (hence the album name), but unfortunately we were stopped at the base (the first floor) of the crescent and learnt that after the hooligans of lot of people, no one (even workers) are not allowed inside the crescent since Ramadhan and the opening in the crescent is now covered. We were disappointed a bit, but still managed to make the most of the trip (I think). Personally, I still don't believe we went up there. Oh well, here it is: succesful trip to the clock tower in just my third attempt.

Your welcome.
On the bottom of all the four clocks, it is written in arabic "Made by the order of King abdullah in 1431 Hijri". In arabic king is written as "ملك" and pronounced "Malik", but on the clocks it is wirtten "MalAk"

the way Saudis talk, i would say it might be an "un-intended" mistake.
for example to say "silence" they would say "Askut" and not "Oskut" but in real "Askut" means "i am silent"
i don't know if some of them pronounce "Malik" as "Malak"
have you come across people who pronounce it like that?

no, no dialect in Saudi uses malak instead of malik. you guys are making it sound like a conspiracy or something, i'm sure there is some linguistic or maybe calligraphic explanation behind this.

Well the example you gave is what we call street language. So, "King" is not pronounced as "Malak", I haven't heard anybody talk like that. But we all know that any word in arabic has many meanings, so maybe they wrote it but didn't mean "angel".

Well, I invited you on 22 September and you said no. And you don't live in Makkah, thats I didn't mention you. But if you can, good luck

More like a natural evolution of classical 7th century Arabic into different dialects which can easily be classified today as separate and independent languages. Fus'ha is dead and today's Arabic dialects are certainly no "street languages".

Anyways, that's waay too OT to discuss here. So I'm just gonna leave it at the point of clarification.

I was talking about the language we use while talking to each other, not the dialects.
Fus'ha is not dead, ask a nigerian
as you said: End of discussion
