I honestly thought that this building was going to be tacky and would not be appropriate for the holiest of places, the Mecca. But seeing it completed, I've changed my mind. It's a beautiful and appropriate building.

Kudos!

It is an amazing building - a little bit tacky but impressive never the less......I somehow love it and somehow like it........but well, it is the sort of building which leaves no one indifferent!

I thought it would make look Mecca more Disney-like but from the pictures it doesn't.....even with the tower.....the place still looks mystical and sacred....wherever the Kaaba appears in the pictures.

A change for Meccah, and the more pictures I see the more I like it!

I am totally against building supertalls around holly kaaba in Mecca !
the place is a holly place for Muslims around the world, and it is special .. so it should has its own islamic architecture which is inspired from the arabian history in the arabian island ..
now this clock is inspired from the Big ben, with Islamic art and patterns on it !
with those towers, Mecca doesnt feel that tradional anymore ..
those towers should be built yes, but not this close ! they should be a km away atleast..

and I think the new other developments in Mecca are useful ( like the bridges and all )
though Ive never been there, but they should really improve the taste.

He has an opinion. Maybe you should try to convince him with facts and pictures, not just blurt out an emotional statement...

He does know what he's talking about, he doesn't like it.

Regardless, it is part of Mecca now, and will be for a long, long time.
