Let it go man. Leave it to the mod.

I think Eddie is referring to some of the more recent Las Vegas architecture. In particular, there is a pseudo-New York facade (building?) that has a similar effect (but on a much smaller scale) as the Mecca building.

I'm not a Muslim, but I think the very presence of this staggeringly huge building is insulting to Islams holiest place. Fair enough, they need a massive amount of accommodation, but why not build it a bit further away? Even a kilometre out would give the Grand Mosque a bit of the breathing space it deserves. Could you imagine the outcry if they built a hotel complex this big just across the road from St Peters in Rome? I'm curious as to whether there was much opposition to this, or whether it simply HAD to go up there where it is due to necessity?

the majority of Muslims have given up on Mecca a long time ago. This isn't the first time the city's heritage has been disrespected.

Put wheels under the building and push it away.

Haha, sounds doable
For the record, I like the style of architecture, and the 'smaller' towers look great. The clock tower is a bit garish for my liking, but to each their own I guess.

They ruined our holy place, dont get me wrong I understand Mecca needs a lot of good hotels but something like this exactly infront of the mosque? Common.... Would you see something like this next to the vatican? There should be a huge park or something like that instead of this skyscraper. It looks like Vegas came to Mecca.. With all the money from the Muslim people in the world available, Mecca has so much potential but with narrow minded people this is the result.

Am I wrong then? With that I ment that there are more then enough potential investors to turn Mecca in to a wonderfull place with very good infrastructure for the millions of pilgrims each year including me in the future.. but instead of dowing that, they are building a tower of 600 meters next to our mosque.. like thats what we need at the moment..
There should be a height limit next to the mosque like in other historical city centers all over the world. But all of this is just my opinion.
