"Yes. If I'm not mistaken, someone had actually confirmed that those two were the inspiration."

that was your post @ Wali and you said that someone confirmed that those two were the inspiration. We want to know who is the "someone" who confirmed it?

I hope it is not you and secondly 90% of new buildings in the world, you can find many old buildings which are very close to them and you can claim that the arch. got the inspiration from them.

Let's grow up and discuss the project its self please instead of attacking biggest construction project in world and one of tallest buildings in world without any real reason except some don't like the location.

You can discuss the location issue in the new debate topic not here and about the inspiration, As I said above, let's don't start this game of the inspiration and getting pictures of old buildings similar to thousands of the new ones.

No, cause the progress in Ramadan & Dhul Hija (Hajj) is lower than the progress during other months. The picture was taken few days before Ramadan therefore, no real progress can be noticed after taking this picture till now.

You are welcome @ Tom Green

That is true cause these cranes are not serving the main tower only but they are serving the whole podium area which is wide enough and the main tower is just a part of it.

Nice update Saudi_Guy.

I believe that al Safwa project which is close to Abraj Al-Bait project (left side) is spoiling the view of abraj al-bait.

I believe that any building near abraj al-bait should be demolished and that is why I was shocked when I have been told that Al-safwa project got the approval to be built and khokair hotel (that old small ugly hotel which has been demolished few months ago) got the approval too to be built again which going to spoil the general view of abraj al-bait.

EDIT: By the way, Al-Safwa project is just 1 meter far from abraj-albait and sure it killed many studios in abraj al-bait cause it is 1 meter far from the windows of the studios of abraj al-bait project.

I believe that the planning of Ajyad area (left side of abraj al-bait) is a shame really after the approval of al safwa and khokair projects.

Those minarets used to look so tall before... Check out some old photos to get that impression.

Indeed! Soon, as this thing rises further, those minarets and the entire Kabaa complex is going to look much smaller and diminutive!
