قال العقيد علي المنتشري الناطق الإعلامي في الدفاع المدني بالعاصمة المقدسة إن الحريق الذي شوهد في أحد الأدوار العليا في فندق بمواجهة الحرم المكي الشريف نتج عن انتثار (زيت قلي) في مدخنة مطعم “الطازج” وقد تمت السيطرة عليه في غضون دقائق دون تسجيل أي إصابات.

وذكرت مصادر إخبارية أن سبب الدخان الذي رآه مرتادو المسجد الحرام هو بسبب ارتفاع نسبة الزيوت والتسربات في مدخنة مطعم الطازج، الواقع بمشروع مكة للإنشاء والتعمير، ولم يصل لأدوار الفندق ولم يحدث أي تأثير كما لم يسفر عن أي إصابة.

وقال المنتشري إن فِرَق الدفاع المدني باشرت الوضع حال ورود بلاغ، واتضح أن زيادة نسبة الأدخنة الخارجة من مدخنة المطعم كانت بشكل كثيف نتيجة تسرب الزيوت والترسبات بالمدخنة.

الجدير بالذكر أن ظهور أعمدة الدخان تلت أداء المصلين لصلاة العشاء في الحرم المكي الشريف مما أدى إلى سرعة انتشاره عبر الشبكات الإجتماعية.
