???????.......

It is an architectural aberration. Ugly and disproportionate to the space in which it is deployed. I suggest scrapping this horrific thing. The city of Mecca did not deserve it. Tip: visit the site Mior football club in Brazil, "www.corinthians.com.br. He, Corinthians, is the owner of the arena that will open the World Cup football 2014 in Brazil. Hugs to all. Hugs to all, from Brazil.

I love it how they are basically flattening a mountain behind this thing to build all the new towers that are to go there.

^ I think its in the middle of nowhere. This must have cost fortunes. They could also invested it in some other things like streets or things that people there actually need.

Yep I said it's a centre for muslims, and surprise surprise you're not .

Well if you actually live there you would know that they ARE investing in transport infrastructure and public facilities. But why they're building tall hotels you ask?

Good accommodation for pilgrims in Mecca is severely lacking (2.5mil pilgrims visit at the same time in 2011) so they had to cap the number of visiting pilgrims because they simply don't have the capacity to handle more where all hotels have near 100% occupancy rate. Even the waiting list for pilgrimage (Haj) reach 2-3 years in some countries where the demand is really high.

So yes, I'd say building large hotels next to the mosque is a damn good investment.
