I think in a couple of hundred years the people who are doing this will be reviled by moslems for what they have destroyed.
Dude, I already explained to you the reason why in my previous post, it has to do with Wahhabism.

Yes I understand that. But they are just one branch of islam. They're also the ones in control of these historic sites at the moment and they're also the ones with all the money.
That doesn't make them right.

sorry to disappoint you Mr...
what you call "Wahhabism" is just exist in the head of some people, specially if you know that this expression was promoted during the Khumaini's revolution (around 350 years after Mohammed Bin Abdul wahhab died!)
the other wrong thing you brought over here the 40% of Saudis are so called Wahhabis (because they reject asking blessings and asking the graves of dead people) in this case you are talking about more than 85% of the Saudis
unless you call Umer Bin AL-Khattab and Uthman Bin Affan and all the Amawis and Abbasys Wahhabys as they demolished most of the prophets wives and some of the big Sahabas (Companions) houses to make expansions to the Masjed

for us, making the the Masjid in Makkah or Madinah enough and comfortable for the worshipers is priority.on the other hand its not allowed in islam to keep such places inside masjeds "if any muslim have a doubts I would be more than happy to provide him/her with a dozen of ayat and hadiths about this"

have a look at this...

Are the pilgrims allowed to stay in the hotel during their pilgrimage? Or they are all required to stay together in the tents like the rest. I hear the rich and poor are meant to be together...

A MAYOR of Bogota is reported to have said: “A developed country is not a place where the poor have cars. It’s where the rich use public transportation.”

It all makes you wonder how those old buildings lasted as long as they did doesn't it?

some of these photos are in terrible quality, bad angles, too much editing and have large ugly signatures.
