Wow, indeed this holy place has gone full on modernistic and advanced. It is good to see such a productive use of technology at a place where crowd is in bulk. It would be much easier now. Especially the swivel chair stairs was just great and quite innovative as well.

I don't get it, so the horrific carbuncle is 607 or 601 meters tall? Who's right?

That's an amazing shot of people praying at the ka'aba -- I wish I'd taken it.

WTF? I know money isn't an issue for the Saudis who are in charge of the developments, but this is just...ridiculous. Even if they're not planning to bring this down before 2020 or 2030, the fact that they are already talking about a demolishment 1 year after the complex has been completed is mind-blowing. Are they going to remove the 600m main tower as well?
I save this pic of masterplan around the holy masjid long time ago

What a massive construction cluster around a tiny sacred rock. (no offense, really)

I love it!!

The whole complex will be astounding.

The Master Plan in that photo is not the one being built. What's being built is something completely different.

Please, anyone knows if there is any publication about this building? I mean, a book explaining in detail different features, like the clocks, the spire, and also with floor plans, lots of photos, etc...
