I think it's great to have all this infrastructure close to the holy site. Better to stay close to where the festivities are than to have to burn gasoline and waste more time going back and forth from hotel the grand mosque

According to Emporis, CTBUH and Skyscraperpage, this building has 120 floors !!

But some source said 95 floors ??

So is it 95 or 120

As long as they don't demolish anything that is of historic significance of course.

This historic sites' destruction issue has really gone far enough.

People who are unfamiliar with the social and religious context are often confounded or enraged at some of the demolitions that happened. Let me explain some things to you:

- "Al haram" and subsequently Mecca are holy places, it's forbidden to kill or have war within the city's parameters unless to defend oneself against an unavoidable ARMED attack.

- It's forbidden to hunt within the area.

You people do realize that the demolished sites were forts and castles! regardless of their historic importance, they present a clear breach to the sanctity of the place just by existing there. Islam represent peace in the head of its adherences.

To make the picture clearer is to imagine a scenario where the jewish people are asked to keep or maintain a concentration camp because of its "Historic" and "Architectural" value IF it had existed within Israel.

Also all respect to the Jewish people, and I didn't use this example to minimize the scale of the tragedy of the Holocaust and all that followed, but just to make the situation clearer to people detached from the social construct of that specific region.

A hilarious fight in the tower about a stupid guy fighting because he didn't like the price of the food and wanted to reduce it

Came back from Umrah last week and Alhamdolillah it was a amazing experience.

Photos taken by me. There is a construction behind the tower, what are they doing?

There's a huge complex of dense skyscrapers planned behind it, that look similar to the original towers.

I believe a complex called the Jabar Rawabi Abraj Al Bait Towers, which featured several supertalls, and a number of skyscrapers.
