Yeah but it's not as annoying as the clock they're going to put on this tower.

Foundation

Sorry if this has already been addressed - the thread seems to start w construction already underway.

How deep is the foundation ? Do the mountains indicate good bedrock near the surface ?

Actually there are 3 basement floors...

B1 (Souq = Shopping mall but for cheap stuff)

B2 (Bus Station + a part of it, is a Souq too + a part of it, is an Electro-Mechanical Floor)

B3 (Electro-Mechanical Floor only such as Tanks, Pumps, Generators, Transformers...)

Each floor's height is almost 5.5 meter except the enterance of B2 since it is under the main bridge which leads to the main enterance of the project at Ground floor.

You can say that B2's height is double which means that it is almost 11 meter only at enterance because there is no B1 at enterance.

Sure there is a foundation under Basement 3 too and the piling work .... etc but I do not know exactly what is the depth but as I had seen before long time ago while they were working, It was more than 20 meter.

If we assumed that 20 meter is the foundation under B3 (Which I am not sure of it) then we can calculate it as the following: 5.5 + 5.5 + 5.5 + 20 = 36.5 meter

I am not sure of the 20M part and I hope someone can confirm if more but that is what i have seen when they were working so maybe it was deeper Wallahu a'lam (Allah knows best).

I don't believe the question was from an overall project height perspective. No one ever counts sub-ground as part of the height, else oil wells and mine shafts would be the tallest buildings in the world. That is just silly!

The question was around the size, strength and and design of the foundation, and how the make-up of the land below ground played into that.

Instead of answering the depth part of the foundation, I wanted to provide more informations about any floor under the ground floor then the foundation.

I provided details about the basements in general then what I have seen at the site about the foundation.

Thank your for the answer - I appreciate the time you take on this. ( still wondering about the Geology - in Chicago we have 10' of rubble, 60' of clay (mud), 30' of hardpan ( compressed gravel & sand ), then limestone. In NYC the granite pokes out of the ground, Moscow appears to have even deeper soil.

Still no real news about it and just rumors till now.

We shall wait untill I get the new design drawing to know if there is any new height or not yet.

I believe that it will be changed inshallah (God willing) to be 600M but time only will prove it and sure this time I have to provide copy of the design drawing as a proof inshallah (God willing)
