Maybe it doesn't look tall to you but it's 240 meters, tallest in Europe until 1988. Enough of these OT. Let's turn back to the ugly monster. Didn't anyone drew parallels yet between the symbolisms on top of the Tacky Coacervate, the MSU and the goofy Manhattan Municipal Building?

The statue on top of the latter is supposed to be the "Civic Fame", but look at this pic and tell me what you see instead.

Maybe. Integralist rhetorics are usually financially supported. And I mean all integralisms.
Also all "civic" rhetorics, if you scrape deep enough, come down to money.

To make a clockwork that powerful, yet precise, it would have to be enormously heavy.

Perhaps they will just use huge clock-shape video screens.

We will see.

Are they going to build any other supertalls there? Or is this one going to stand alone? It really looks like it was accidentally built in a wrong place.

I tried my best to keep quite and not to go into deept argument but you people are really funny and clever to tease me at same time.

I am forced to reply for the 10th time, YES The clock has been approved, designed and I have seen my self the approved design.

Please no need to deny facts which already got approved and designed long time ago and it will be a fact next yr inshallah (God willing).

About more supertalls, yes there are many highrise buildings (not supertalls) will be around this project such as Rawabi Abraj Al-Bait (Behind Abraj Al-Bait) 21 Towers and Jabal Umar also (almost 25 towers or more).

No tents on top of wings. The top of the two wings are helipads.

Who are you and why do you think I try to tease you?

Anyway, since you have seen the design, can you tell us something? Are the clock hands going to be real ones or just images on video screen? If real then what material and where are the counterweights that are balancing them?

Is there going to be one clockwork for all the four clocks, or four different clockworks?

4 clocks 16 escapements each thats 64 gears and 128 counterweights 2036 moving parts and a weight probably more than your house

CLOYINGLY TAWDRY

I like the traditional Arabic designs and arches of the first few floors. Its nice to see architects acknowlege the part of the world they are building for and making reference to the local building designs and traditional native ornamental designs. On the other hand, the gaudy, overcrowded, and busy concept of this building makes it look cheap and ostentatious. Many here have called it ugly, a monstrosity. I would say that for being situated in a supposedly holy city it appears to be the architectural equivalent of garishly painted harlot ... trying so hard to be charming but cloyingly tawdry.

First of all, I did not mean that you mean to tease me but your words do. Who am I? Hmmm at least you can say that I know most of details of this project more than anyone else Wallahu A'lam (Allah knows best). Please check the previous pages to know what I mean.

Second, Yes real ones not video screen, I do not know the material Mr.Smarty since I have seen the design of the top of the tower with all dimensions of the clock and outer arm not the intire system of gears and mechanism or I would announce the name of the manufacture.

Be smart and think logically about country has billions of dollars announces in all newspaper and TV's worldwide that it is going to install biggest clock in world with blah blah dimensions and already got approved by king... How come it was not designed before and approved scientifically?
