Really? Holiest place for islam is mecca? Not Heaven???

Anyway this tower is certainly not ugly and you will change your mind when the upper part of the structure gets built in gold colours and the giant clock comes into place. Ugliest tower is Ryugyong hotel (officially)

Heaven is not a holy place it s HEAVEN

And no i won't change my mind even if the whole buidling was made of gold the structure , the size and the architecure is a total disaster islam is about purity faith dedication to Allah.

This 'complex' does not reflect in any manner our religion or its values

I don't think it's ugly. I think it is out of scale for the location where it is being built. In fact if you look at pictures of the ground floor and first few floors, the traditional arabic designs, motifs, arches etc are quite pretty. It's like an attractive lady who put on a little too much cosmetics and jewelry, in my view. If it was on the outskirts of town and not looming over the holy mosque like a monster, it would have been much more appealing ... and I wish they would remove the clock.

I hope there would be a similar concept for all the surroundings of Al Kaba, the idea of extending prayer area this way is great !!

It's like some alternative universe in which Albert Speer was a Muslim.

I think they're ruining the place. So much space out there and they build this. I think they should make parks, areas for assistance to the pilgrims and etc. and not those huge buildings that take the attention from the prayers. I am Catholic and don't like some new stuff they do near holy sites.
It looks like Metropolis from the famous sci-fi film.
