I love that old copy of the London Illustrated News, and the Wheatsheaf was a mere 10 years old when it was published. The King's College shown is slightly different from
today's as parts were burned during a fire that broke out during a Ball. To this day they call that annual Ball the Fire Ball! Everything except the West Wing and the round building on the left had the interior burn because a man walking down the stairs at night carrying a coal-oil lamp tripped and dropped the lamp. Boom!

Thanks, Pottebaum! I've taken a lot more pix of celebrations during the World Cup games but just have not had time to organise them all. I will get them posted, but here are a small sample in the meantime. First the celebration last Monday in the Brasilian area of town, and later that day in the Korean village.

Today saw beautiful weather, 27C and sunny, and the largest ever Toronto Gay and Lesbian Pride Parade. This 26th annual event drew 1,000,000 to the downtown to watch the festivities, and it has become one of the largest Pride parades in the world. Enjoy!
![]() ![]() Hmmm... I thought they were real, but I hear they were fake Mounties!!! LOL! ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() Hopefully the next Prime Minister of Canada, Liberal Party contender Michael Ignatieff: ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() a happy DJ ![]() ![]() a little Cuban salsa ![]() and a LOT of dancing ![]() and finally a few pix I snapped late last night ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() Thanks for everyone who took this little tour! Cheers!

The parade appears to be tamer than I thought it would be. Granted, it’s still a desecration of the Sabbath. It is hard to believe that Toronto was known as the Methodist Rome a century ago.
