Like the both for different reasons. The Canadian parliament has a stunning dark imposing quality to it. The US Capitol a grand optimism to it.

Where Washington's architecture takes all it's cues from neo-classicalism, unfortunately, Ottawa doesn't conform to gothic.

An entire gothic downtown Ottawa would have been truly unique in the world.

The Capitol stands
White as snow that house
How will I find it
In middle of white-outs?

The Canadian Parliament sort of looks like an oversized gothic high school with towers, some windowless, sticking out everywhere. While there are faults with the US Capitol building, it stands much more prominent in my opinion. The dome is great and its environment is also fantastic.

Hmm.. I've driven through Indiana, and for the life of me cannot recall any Gothic buildings that look like the Canadian Parliament buildings!
The style you are thinking of is called "University Gothic", and is quite different.

The Second Empire styled Langevin Block(1883) is part of Parliament Hill and is home to the Prime Minister's Office
and the Queen's Privy Council for Canada.

Library Of Parliament(1876). It's located at the rear of the Centre Block of the Parliament Buildings.
It escaped the fire that destroyed the original buildings. It recently went through 4 years of refurbishment including
redoing the copper roofing.

I can also list off some famous church's off the top of my head that resemble the domed shape of the US Capital; St Peter's(Rome), St Paul's(London), Dome of the Rock(Jerusalem), Sacré Coeur(Paris), the Berliner Dom.
