I much prefer the U.S. Capitol. Despite the bastards that work in its halls, the U.S. Capitol is imposing and majestic. It gives the impression of strength and power, something a capitol building should give. Even though it's not the only building in that style, it still looks original.

When I look at Canada's capitol I don’t see “Capitol of Canada”. I see "The Canadian National Train Station". But the inside is beautiful.

I think I prefer the U.S. Capitol because it has a much more refined, polished look. It is beautiful and imposing. The interiour is so beautiful (although the Library of Congress is definitely the most beautiful building in Washington, IMO). What I like about the Canadian Parliament is how it interacts with its surroundings, there's an older post lurking around here somewhere, and on the opposite side of the canal there's a very beautiful chateau, together they have this great symbiosis that Washington can't offer (because it's all so spread out. Each building is really meant to be a showpiece, so they lose the interaction.)

Oh boy, long story short, I vote for the U.S. Capitol.

I'm sorry, even though I'm a proud Canadian I just have to vote for the US Capitol... it is AMAZING!! I mean, I they are both great buildings, but I think I like the architectural sytle of the US Capitol more, so maybe I'm biased in that sense. The Canadian Parliament is a beautiful Neo-Gothic building though.

I'll definately go for Canadia - the setting the river and overall look is simply fantastic. And those who said that Capitol is unique, well not so much...Capitolio in Havana.

who said it was unique? Most people know that The capitol is not american architecture and neither is the capitolio in Havana. And anyway, the american capitol was built long before the capitolio in havana, according to wikipedia. And sorry, if I sound mean

excellent pics, the winner is still the dome, (even though it has savagely copied everyone else's dome structure)
