It appears construction on Jinzhou-Puwan line (a.k.a. line R4) was stopped for some time due to some demolition and land acquisition troubles and only restarted recently. So no opening before the end of 2017 at the best. The North part of line 2 (from the current Airport to North station) is also experiencing troubles and won't open until 2018. The other end of line 2 (to Haizhiyun) will open by the year end and line 1 to Hekou is expected for June 2017.

In other news, full construction on line 5 is expected to start soon. This will be followed by line 4 in the first half of 2017 and line 7 (not to be confused with what is once again known as line 3/R3 branch) in 2018. An extension to the Jinzhou-Puwan line to the North station is also set to begin construction soon.

Any word on when exactly the eastern extension of line 2 (to Haizhiyun) will open?

Some news: Line 2 to Haizhiyun was announced to be opened this week earlier this month. Today is 28, a day on which they have been known to inaugurate things, but nothing. Perhaps it will open on Friday (last day of the month). The second phase of line 1 to Hekou is now expected by the end of May as trial runs continue.

In other news, line 5 has started construction. The 23.8 km line will run from Hutan Xinqu to Houguancun with 18 stations along the way and is expected to open in 2021. Notably it will feature a tunnel under the Dalian Harbor between the railway station and Suoyuwan Nan.

Line 2 extension has already blown through two opening dates. I wonder what's going on. Something ribald, no doubt.

It appears they don't open line 2 East because there's currently not much beyond Huiyi Zhongxin. On the other hand, line 1 to Hekou is pretty much set in concrete for May. And that one does make sense... even if it runs directly beneath tram route 202.

But aren't there new residential districts on the northeast end of the peninsula? Plus, now that summer is approaching, folks may be interested in heading to the bayside park for hiking, biking, picnicking and other types of recreation.

Okay, I'm about to give up from Dalian. This time it's about line 1 South. They said yesterday it might open today but it was quickly dismissed. Still waiting for this and line 2...

When line 1 was first opened, there was a station that was left unopened, Huanan Bei (between Huanan Guangchang and Huabei Lu). It finally opens on June 1. Meanwhile no opening date has been anounced for both line 1 to Hekou and line 2 to Haizhiyun, they speculate they could open around the same date.

And once again they are renumbering the Lvshun/Lüshun/Lyushun South line. First it was line 8, then route 202 extension, now line 12. I'll continue to refer to it as line R2 unless planning maps indeed have changed numbering (in that case I'd adopt line 12, and also line 3 for line R3).

Finally! We have now a opening date for line 1 to Hekou and line 2 to Haizhiyun: June 7 (this Wednesday). I suppose line R2/12 (former route 202 extension) will be brought back to Hekou, it has been ending at Caidialing for a time now while they were working on line 1. Now I cannot tell apart the Southern half of line 1 from tram route 202 unless I really zoom in as they run along the same corridor between Xinggong Jie (formerly Shahekou) and Hekou.

Will tram 202 continue operations following the introduction of revenue service on the southern extension of the "1" train?

What happened to line 3? It has been shut down? It doesn't appear on those maps. It's also true that it doesn't connect to other lines yet, while line 12 (formerly known as route 202 extension) has just been connected to line 1.

Now that is a strange sight, a new Chinese metro station without PSDs or PSGs. The train and the station actually looks really Japanese.

What is more weird is the other side of the station has PSDs.

Hekou is a cross-platform transfer between Line 1 (which has PSDs) and Line 12 (which does not). A Google-translate of Chinese Wikipedia even notes that this calls for extra attention on behalf of passengers:

https://zh.wikipedia.org/wiki/%E6%B2...4%A7%E8%BF%9E)

There's no suggestion that Line 3 has closed down. It apparently does not appear on the official map because it has no connections to the rest of the system, as was the case with Line 12 prior to this week. What's more, Line 3 and Line 12 seem to have a different operator ("Dalian Public Transportation Group Co. Ltd.") compared to Line 1 and Line 2 ("Dalian Metro Co. Ltd.").

Dalian metro opens three extensions

http://www.metro-report.com/news/new...xtensions.html

CHINA: Three metro extensions opened in Dalian on June 7.

Line 1 and the suburban Line 12 now meet at Hekou. Line 1 has been extended by 9·1 km southwest from Convention & Exhibition Centre. On this section it parallels tram Route 202, and serves six intermediate stations. On June 1 Huananbei station opened on near the northern end of the line, between Huananguangchang and Huabeilu.

Line 12 has been extended by one stop extension from its eastern terminus of Caidaling to Hekou on a 2·1 km alignment.

Line 2 has also been extended. The eastern extension from Huiyizhongxin to Haizhiyun is 3·8 km long and has two intermediate stations.
