Shigeru Ban's 'Nomadic Museum' is now in his hometown Tokyo after NY and LA.

'Ashes and snow' by Gregory Colbert, Canadian photo artist, is now on exhibition there.
Shigeru Ban has made NY and Paris as well as Tokyo his bases.
The Bourgogne Museum in France (in 2006) is also his work.

Thanks, japanese001. But you forgot that Tange had designed two international airport, Algeria International Airport and Kuwait International Airport.
And it seems to me Naples Administration Center (Naples New City ) was the considerable project by him.
Regretfully, Kenzo Tange brought no works down in NY, as far as I know, he left only a few in US, such as American Medical Association HQ in Chicago, though.

OK, I'll show tons of works done by Japanese architects in the whole world beside in NYC in this thread.
Now Japanese architects might be most sought after in the world.

Arata Isozaki
he also designed Museum of Contemporary Art, Los Angeles (MOCA) and the Sports Palace of the Barcelona Olympics 1992.

Urban Polo, Milan Italy (2012)
(the other scrapers are by Daniel Libeskind and Zaha Hadid)

Cornell University in Qatar Education City, Doha Qatar (2004)

Waro Kishi
Paju SW office (Research Park in the suburbs of Seoul) (2006)

Tadao Ando
He is only a Japanese grand slam architect who won the Pritzker Architecture Prize, the AIA Gold Medal, and the Royal Gold Medal, since Kenzo Tange.

Shanghai Design Center (2008)

Maritime Museum, Abu Dhabi, UAE ('New Art Island Project' with Jean Nouvel and Frank Gehry)

Kazuyo Sejima & Ryue Nishizawa
They are widely known as 'SANAA'. Forbes recently awarded them as one of 'World's 10 Most Talented Architects'.
EPLF Learning Center, Switzerland (2009)

Naomi Sato
Shanghai Tennis Stadium

Toyo Ito
He's one of the most innovative architect in the world without doubt, and won the Royal Gold Medal by the Royal Institute of British Architects last year.
(He became the fourth Japanese gold medalist.)
Serpentine Gallery, London

Taichung Concert Hall (Opera House), Taiwan

Kaohsiung Stadium, Taiwan. Personally I like this most.

Riken Yamamoto
SOHO, Beijing China. (all these buildings were designed by him alone!!!)

Shin Takamatsu
He is the imaginative post-modern architect of global fame.
Black Pearl, Taipei

Takangpu MRT Station, Kaohsiung Taiwan

Taipei Dome

Tianjin Museum, China

AXA Sato
Tianjin Olympic Stadium, China

Shenyang Oympic Stadium, China

Kisho Kurokawa
As he designed the Kuala Lumpur International Airport, the Pacific Tower in La Defense Paris and Van Gogh Museum in Amsterdam, he has been doing lots of work overseas.
Astana, new capital of Kazakhstan, has been developed based on Kurokawa's grand design.
Thus, Astana International Airport was designed by him. He is the father of Astana in a sense.

Noritaka Tange
YTL HQ, Kuala Lumpur Malaysia

Norihiko Dan
Taoyuan International Airport, New International Terminal. Taipei (2010)

Sun Moon Lake Tourist Route, Taiwan (2009)

Fumihiko Maki
His projects are too many. So I'll show the rest later.
Taipei Gate Towers, Taipei

Hiroyuki Yoshikawa
Sports Complex of National Seoul University, S.Korea

Kengo Kuma
he is the most promising architect of Neo-Japanisim architecture (reinterpretation of the tradition). He also has put the working overseas on the move.

Mandarin Oriental Dellis Cay Island Resort, Turks and Caicos Islands in the Caribbean Sea. (2010)

Five internationally renowned architects other than Kengo Kuma, such as David Chipperfield and Zaha Hadid, have taken part in this prestigious resort project.
Shigeru Ban is one of them.

Commune by The Great Wall, Beijing China, by Kengo Kuma (2002)
Asian architects from Japan, Hong Kong, Singapore and S.Korea created this luxurious resort hotel.
From Japan, Kengo Kuma, Nobuaki Saito, and Shigeru Ban were engaged with the project.

Terunobu Fujimori
Yes, he has appeared on at long last!
He's the bizarre architect, but his extraordinarily fantastic talent has become the focus of attention in world's architectural field.

all these works are in Japan.

Milan's old trade fair area will shortly be subjected to major renovations changing its structure, configuration and functions. 255 of its 400 thousand square metres have been redesigned by big names in international architecture today: Daniel Libeskind, Arata Isozaki, Zaha Hadid and Pier Paolo Maggiora.

The transformation will centre around three skyscrapers: a 170 metre high sail (Libeskind), a twisting skyscraper 185 metres high (Hadid) and the tallest building of all, 215 metres, by Isozaki.

'Tornade' by Tokujin Yoshioka. This is his award-winning memorial works of 'Designer of the Year 2007'.
American art forum 'Design Miami' began this prestigious award in 2005, and the prize went to Zaha Hadid in 2005, and to Marc Newson in 2006.

Jean Nouvel Wins Pritzker Prize
The New York Times, Mar 31, 2008
The French architect will be awarded the Pritzker Prize Monday -- the top prize in the field of architecture.

"Mr. Nouvel, 62, is the second French citizen to take the prize, awarded annually to a living architect by a jury chosen by the Hyatt Foundation. His selection is to be announced Monday."

"'For over 30 years Jean Nouvel has pushed architecture’s discourse and praxis to new limits,' the Pritzker jury said in its citation. 'His inquisitive and agile mind propels him to take risks in each of his projects, which, regardless of varying degrees of success, have greatly expanded the vocabulary of contemporary architecture.'"

In 2007 the prize went to Richard Rogers (UK).
It's wonderful to see their recent masterpieces in Tokyo.
