I am not a fan of advertisements of this kind but the LA, Brussels, and Hong Kong ads pictured above are actually kind of cool.

Detroit, Michigan, on the other hand has a farily dumb ad on a building.

Trivia Fact: The taller building is the Cadillac Tower (1927, 437 feet high) which was the first building outside of New York and Chicago to equal or exceed forty stories.

The one I posted for HK caused some road accidents around that area

How are you so sure that the accidents are caused by the ad?

i've heard the millenium dome in london is going to have a jetty in the shape of a "2" to go next to "o" shaped dome (soon to be called the o2 arena), o2 are a mobile phone company here in uk incase you didn't know. i know this isn't on the side skyscraper but is a pretty good idea none the less.

In NYC, 1 Times Sq has been known for being covered with ads all over it.

I really do wonder how companies would afford investing in advertising billboards these large.

Wow - some huge adverts here!! I thought this next one was big, but that advert for the times on 2IFC is massive!!

Here is a department store in Glasgow being renovated, with a giant Ipod advert over the entire front wall:

These are great. LA has a few districts that these are allowed in, Mainly Downtown LA, Sunset Strip, Hollywood and Wilshire BLVD that i can think of.

1 Times Square, I thought, was the old Times building on the south side of the square. These are the ads on the north side of the square,

That is the same building that was originally built in 1904, but it was recladded in the 60's to look like the way it does right now.
