Honolulu Development News
Not really sure if this thread belongs in this forum, but if it needs to be moved, it can be moved. Anyway, I was inspired by a recent photo thread of Honolulu to investigate some of the project underway there. I came to find that there are quite a few, and I feel that the city deserves a development thread of its own. So here is a list of the projects occupying Honolulu at the moment - at least those that I could find out about anyway.

The quality of buildings and projects in Honolulu has improved a lot from the earlier "semi-commie blocks by the sea." Good stuff.

It seems like underground parking isn't very popular in Hawaii. Is it because of heavy the rain you guys get? Anyways, these are all great addition to Hawaii's skyline. If you want a sticky, you can ask a mod.

Good for Honolulu. Its nice to see the end of the 70's garbage and a fresh new crop of towers.

Let's see how active this thread becomes....if it stays active with updates then it should qualify for a sticky.

Honolulu sure is changing. I've been away too long! As long as St. Louis Drive Inn is still there, its all good!

Royal Hawaiian pics?
I know it's not nearly as exciting as skyscrapers, but does anyone have any recent pics of the Royal Hawaiian Shopping Center redux? The mall's website has nothing past the beginning of April, and has no press releases or newsletters since February.

Some of the projects that I have noticed here have many floors and look great, but I am curious as to what the current height restriction is for the city of Honolulu?? Is it under 500ft. or something like that??
