Cool, did not realise that was the case, cheers Chris.
Seems odd to have alot of new stores open, but have an official launch the following day!?

For several months, the official opening was to be 30th September. This is the date that stores in the second phase will have been advised of. However due to the commitments of the Royal guest they have lined up to do the official opening, they had to push the opening back a day to the 1st October. If stores had been working towards a 30th September opening, it's unlikely they'd want to miss a day's trade if they are ready to open, hence you have the situation of the stores opening one day, and the official opening the next.

Here's the information from the Liverpool One website -

Quote:
It's ACCESS ALL AREAS - 1st Oct '08

Access All Areas on 1st October marks the first date that the entire 42 acres of shopping and leisure will be fully open. Stores will open 30th September and celebrations along with the re-opening of Chavasse Park will commence the following day. Celebrations will take place in the heart of the city to mark Liverpool ONE's massive contribution to a city in transition.

That's great news franno - I think the opening of the Odeon will have a massive impact on the area, espcially during the evenings... I'm also extremely pleased that they're opening a dedicate Ben & Jerry's ice cream bar within the cinema

I still for the life of me can't work out where the entrance is going to be though!!

Looks like there's an entrance on the cafe terrace (the zig zag stairs look like they lead up to it):

Theres a space (the Galleria) that will have the entrance to the cinema in. You access the cinema over the WAll St bridge.

The Leisure level of the map is helpful in clearing up how you gain access from the terrace.

2 shops on the Upper level have signs on them, like planning signs, saying they will be something to do with Odeon, they also mention selling alcohol.

Well cool, i hope this means they are gonna have the option of drinking alcohol whilst watchin a movie. Perhaps in a specific screening room, with armchairs and in movie service, making for a more enjoyable relaxed and very comfortable atmosphere. Really curious as to how this new Odeon will look? Hoping for a new feel/design/quality film experience.

I love my films, and this is the way to go, need to break away, or at least have the option of an alternative experience from the usual screening room.

*UPDATE*

Just as an example as to the type of new experience i am talking about, please view the following AMC Pacific Place Cinema in Hong Kong!!
