^ Such a beautiful Deco-inspired design, top-class. Only wish it was higher to stick out of its row a little more.

The building will encompass 88,447 square feet. That includes retail on the first and second floors. So, we can’t give you a good estimate of the size of each hotel room. The cellar will have a luggage storage room and room for nine bicycles. The third floor will have more lobby space, plus a an exercise room and a lounge and bar. Hotel rooms will begin on the fifth floor with 10 rooms, followed by 11 rooms each on floors six through 24, and nine rooms on the 25th floor.

....You usually complain about the lack of architectual unity!
At least we have here a gem which wisely melts in the row but stands out from its amazing facade.

IMO The Fitzroy is notable enough to deserve a thread in General Urban Developments.

New Views and Renderings of Eliot Spitzer’s ODA-Designed Williamsburg Mega-Development
http://www.6sqft.com/new-views-and-r...a-development/

Quote:
Construction and excavation is now underway on Spitzer Enterprises’ trifecta of towers along the South Williamsburg waterfront. Set to rise from a three-acre parcel at 416-430 Kent Avenue, between Broadway and South 9th Street, the development is graced with nearly 400 feet of prized East River frontage. Approved permits filed with the Department of Buildings detail that the plan will comprise 857 rental apartments within three 22-story towers. A publicly accessible park and esplanade will run along the shoreline and connect to the the existing esplanade of the Schaefer Landing development to the south.

The relatively young firm of ODA Architects is handling the design, which features many of their volume-popping elements to which we’ve grown accustomed.

Much better than what we have today along the Williamsburg waterfront.

Together with SHoP's masterplan for the old Domino sugar factory, this will greatly improve the skyline.

I just did some serious digging into all 34 pages of Proposed Highrises to see if there is a thread for that project (couldn't find one), and holy moley, there are like over a fifty bured NYC projects that haven't been updated in up to three years. Someone with some spare time and access to a lot of information should go through them one day, some are probably dead, some, how knows?

This looks interesting: http://www.skyscrapercity.com/showthread.php?t=1742064
This really does, too: http://www.skyscrapercity.com/showthread.php?t=542846

many projects are in the general developments section and get lost, as they do not meet the 100m criteria. There is a thread for Spitzer's development in the Brooklyn section. http://www.skyscrapercity.com/showthread.php?t=1868642

I figured something like that, could have sworn by the renders it was over 100m, but yeah with 22 floors it's questionable.

Window installation is complete at Friedland Properties' two building mixed-use development that spans a mid-block site between West 21st and 22nd Streets in the Ladies Mile Historic District of the Flatiron. Designed by Morris Adjmi Architects, the 14-story, 239-unit development will feature terracotta cladding on its gridded tower facades. The first few pieces of the terracotta elements of the facade have been installed on the West 22nd Street elevation. Limestone and metal dominate the ground floor facades of the 8,211 square feet retail space. The design has been shaped by the rigors of the Landmarks Preservation Commission approval process, which unanimously approved the design on its second presentation. Completion is slated for 2016.
