Question; I know it's not a highrise project, but whatever happened to the Moynihan Station deal? Is there a thread on it?

Thanks

MIDTOWN EAST — The Republic of Turkey is moving forward with plans for a glassy First Avenue tower that will be the new home of the country’s New York consulate, records show.

Representatives of Turkey filed demolition permits on May 5 for 821 First Ave., at the corner of East 46th Street, and a townhouse next door at 342 E. 46th St. — both of which currently house various Turkish diplomatic offices.

The new 32-story tower will replace the plain, 11-story building that currently sits on at the corner of First Avenue and East 46th Street, as well as the five-story building next door, according to permits filed with the city.
...
Construction on the new tower is expected to wrap up by 2018, the spokesman said.

Quote:
Three years after acquiring the two low-income buildings comprising Lands End II (265-275 Cherry Street) for $279 million, L+M Partners hopes to develop the parking lots facing the water. In fact, word on the street is that the project will be comprised of two 50-story towers for a total of roughly 1,000 units.

Related Companies has received $88 million in construction financing from Deutsche Bank for the development of a new eco-conscious, mixed-use building at 300 Lafayette Street in Soho, the former site of neighborhood bar Puck Fair and a BP gas station.
...
The $200 million project is now fully capitalized and has an estimated completion date of first-quarter 2018, Mr. Kollenscher said. It will be highly visible in the neighborhood, with 300 feet of frontage each on Crosby, Lafayette and East Houston Streets. Is the info about the Cherry Street buildings enough for a thread in Proposed Highrises?

Beautiful infill as it is, even before window installation! Fits perfectly in its environment, like it's always been there!

It's also good architecture. It's traditionalism and New Formalism taken to an innovative, visual pleasing, and modern direction. Adjmi should be a more well known name.
