I like that one in Murray Hill. Reminds me a little of the warehouses downtown and it's nice to see brick making a comeback.

Upper West Side - Waterline Square

Curbed

Quote:
Three star architects have been tapped by General Investment and Development Companies (GID) to build out a nearly five-acre portion of undeveloped land on the Upper West Side’s Hudson River waterfront. Richard Meier and Partners Architects, Rafael Viñoly Architects, and Kohn Pedersen Fox Associates have each been brought on to design a residential building for Waterline Square, one of the last new development enclaves on the prized waterfront of Manhattan’s maxed-out west side.

Horrible. What were they thinking plonking so many commies on the sea shore? A great way to sully a natural asset in a major city. How clueless were these donkeys back then? Suggestion: don't build brown commie blocks, it makes them look 100 times more depressing. The entire area should be redeveloped but that won't happen we know.

Yeah, Coney Island would be a prime residential and vacational place in Brooklyn, if it wasn't for all the crappy "social" housing, which in fact is just horrid sleeping batteries for humanoid robots. I've visited the place multiple times and hated it for these blocks.

Crown of the building on the left reminds me of the Fosters original plan for WTC 2.
It was my favourite feature of that tower so I am happy to see that the idea of the "four diamonds crown" will be eventualy built in the NYC

Robert Moses helped mess up NYC with his idiotic selfish plans including building all those ugly housing blocks on waterways, etc. . I saw a detailed documentary on NY and the guy was an arrogant SOB. NY should definitely tear down these old crude social housing buildings that breed crime and replace theme with better ones like other cities have done.

I don't think Coney would be prime for living, because it takes too long to get into the city on the subway or road. IF there was a commuter train it might be

Because it takes an hour or so to get into Manhattan so its not a place that's really in high demand. Also because it is full of social housing which deters investment due to perceived problems.

Keep in mind Coney Island is 14miles (22 kms) from Times Square (over an hour on the subway). I don't really expect high quality stuff that far out. From my apartment in northern Manhattan it would take me 1 hour and 45 min on the subway to get there (which is why I haven't made it out there in many years)

Speaking of Coney Island:
