Or if Emirates (Airline) hostes, living on 21St Century Tower and on the the other towers, have to go to Pepermint, Zinc or Long Bar on the other side.

Wow, nice progress on this bldg.

I would hate to have to cross that road. Too bad Dubai has so many nice towers but not an effective way for ppl to get to them. If you need to take a taxi to get to the other side of the road then there's a problem. Some folks like to explore a city w/out hailing a cab. With all the money being dumped into this relatively small area, it's a shame that city planners couldn't have come up with a better plan than that great expanse of unpassable road. I'd rather see a sunken road w/parks on top or something even more revolutionary.

BUT u must not forget there is - actually- no need to cross SZR, why should u , u either have ur business on the one side, meeting or picking up someone in the hotels, or having ur office on the one side.

both sides offer restaurants and shops, so u need not to cross the road anyway, except for photos for example
Even if there is no real need to cross the SZR, there should be more ways to get across. Otherwise, the SZR will be basically a freeway.

... and to continue on the post . Not only SZR IS a freeway, but it was also buid before all those highrises.

The two rows of buildings are far from eachother, don't get fooled by the pictures.

The cladding is going very very fast!It looks more and more like the render!I am lookig forward for the roof part! This woill be stunning!

Question!

Is been said that SZR is 150m wide! What is in the middle of the street?Trees, parks?Or are there only lanes? And if its projected to redesign the street to make it more a mainboulevard of Dubai like Champs Elysees in Paris or Unter den Linden in Berlin.?

SZR is NOT 150 meter wide. The two rows of buildings on each side, are some 150 meters away from eachother.

SZR has 5 lanes on each direction. On the side of SZR, both sides, there are landscaped aereas with grass, flowers and trees, however the elevated track of Dubai Metro (currently under construction) will run over one of them. In front of the buildings rows, on both sides, pass service roads of 2 lanes each plus extra parking places on both sides of them.

There are no plans to redesign the streat at all. The main boulevard of Dubai will be build (currently u/c) on the new Downtown around Burj Dubai.

Hope it clarifies.

Hmm I wouldn't stay in this hotel when I go to Dubai... the odds of getting a room that looks right @ the offices next door is like... 50% :-(

o wellz at least it's tall :-D
