The roof will definitely take quite some time... I'd say a year more before this tower is completed

I would like to update this list a little bit.. I forgot to include the Four Seasons Hotel that is going to be built on the creekfront in Dubai. It's going to be 320m tall - so the list of the Tallest six Hotels in the World will look something like this in 3-4 years

1. Rose Rotana, Dubai - Under Construction (2007) - 333m
2. Burj Al Arab, Dubai - Complete (1999) - 321 m
3. Four Seasons Hotel, Dubai - Approved ( 2009) - 320 m
4. Jumeirah Emirates Towers Hotel, Dubai - Complete (2000) - 309 m
5. Burj Dubai Lake Hotel, Dubai - Under Construction (2008) - 306m
6. Baiyoke Tower II, Bangkok - Complete (1997) - 304m

Thx a lot for theses beautiful shots of the Rose Rotana !
Excellent !

I come from Switzerland (Lausanne), I speak french and I love high structures. But there isn't any high building in switzerland... (The highest is the "Messeturm", 105m, in Basel. ...) So I search pictures on the web, and maybe later some travels...

I don't know if you ever know this picture of Google Earth, but I put it all the same.
The picture must be taken in the end of 2005, the Rotana is as hight as the two neighbouring buildings.

P.S.: Excuse me to my bad english...

I don't see why the completion of this tower should require another year.

Why are there so many missing glass panels? Looks weird.

I think some windows are left out for ventilation while they are still doing the interior and don't have Air Conditioning. Not sure though

I also think so, since every single tower u/c has always had glass panels "missing" throughout the tower's height.

why another year?? fair enough another year to sort out the interior plumbing electrics etc. But for the roof feature? the entire buildings gone up in about a year, and its gonna take the same length to finish the little bit on top i doubt it. I reckon the apire will be finished all bar cladding in a few months max

one year for roof + interiors.. not just the roof
