Surveyer, a forumer working on the project, said once that the highest point the cladding will reach it will be 303 meters, so it makes sense to think that 303 is the actual height. The rest will be a spire.

Apart Burj Dubai, this is the first building in Dubai to have the roof above 300 meters. In all the other 4 supertalls:

Emirates Office Tower (355m)
Rose Rotana (333m)
Jumeirah Emirates Tower Hotel (309m)
Burj Al Arab (321m)

the roof is below that mark.

Of course many more supertalls are on the way.

Lower roof is almost done and not much more to go on top. The spires look quite massive on the render. Cant wait for this beauty to be done

Fantastic pics of my favorite u/c-tower at present from never seen perspectives!
And here we can already see the base of the spire... right?

Near the ruling Almas Tower, all the other new towers around get almost no attention... in most cities they might have a thread of their own somewhere on the forum. On the tower in the foreground I count 43 stories; this could end up around 150 meters easily - but here the building is one of some dozen in that range!

Wow, I've never recognized that subforum. Merci beaucoup!
And of course my point was just about the enormous dimension of construction going on in Dubai compared to other cities, not about any indifference or laziness of Dubai forumers about smaller towers (you all make a splendid contribution to the forum there)

edit: I've just peeked in the Jumeirah Lakes Towers section... and my guess about the height of the foreground building was just right... the Bonnington Tower is exactly 150 meters tall. And that's still less than half of Almas Tower to the roof!

Does anyone else ever wonder if this building boom will subside in the next 10-20 years and Dubai will be left with an EXTREMELY dated skyline? Imagine if they had had this boom in the 60s, 70s or 80s...it would have been seen as amazing at the time and hideously retro today. Just a thought...but everything always seems nicer when it's new...
