So the spire indeed has been redesigned, hasn't it?
Originally it was planned to be one piece, now we're waiting for a second, thinner part (maybe this is the reason for the change in height from 340 or 350m to 360m). Viewed from the side, it sticks out vertically now and doesn't follow the convex curve of the building at all anymore. The steel bracing is quite complex, and might make the lower part of the spire look more massive than expected.

Will all the steel receive a cladding? I could imaginge that only half of it will be covered - the outer side, where already a bit of cladding seems to be done.

Furthermore, I wonder what emerges inside the very top... could it be something like a diamond (=Almas) sculpture, that will be moved up soon? But it's more likely just the base for the upper spire. Anyway, one crane has to grow once more to be able to bring up the upper part, I think.

Sure? I could imagine another piece of spire to reach the 360m... that would be even more awesome.
On the other hand, the Almas Tower thread in the Dubai section here has just been labelled "#TOPPED OUT" indeed, so maybe you're right.

Needless to say: these pics, that have caught Almas "in the very act", are highlight! Thanks, Imre!

I don't think it's topped out. According to the renders the spire should not end horizontally but with a little slope on the top. So there is probably one or two parts missing.

I can see that but that last section will not be more then 5 meters tall, so it must be taller then Emirates Office tower now.

Agree, only a cover with an air beacon left, 2 meters at max. Was that part lifted in one piece?

ive scaled off spire drawing and current photo and the spire = approx 350m high.
so another 10m left to go.
you can see panels for the spire.
these are each 3.55m.
so 3 more of them to go.
