I guess I just think that if you are going to answer questions, you should take the time to make sure you are right. It takes all of 10 seconds to go to the first post in this thread and see that the full name is "Burj Dubai Lake Hotel and Apartments." When I answer questions, I always try to find somewhere that the answer is written down, even if I think I'm sure. Because if you give wrong answers, you're just inflating your post count and not helping anyone else.

Sorry, just a pet peeve.

Is it true that this is the second tallest tower in Downtown? (ie after The Burj Tower). Imre, may be you could shed some light on that?

No. When it is finished it will be THIRD tallest FINISHED tower in the downtown--but not after the Burj, which will not be done yet. It will be third to Emirates tower and then Rose Rotana. It will rapidly slide to fifth when the Index and Burj Dubai are finished. The next downtown tower to pass it will probably be Al Yacoub, unless the height of that was changed with the redesign (which we have not yet seen). There are, however, many downtown towers in various stages of planning that will eventually pass this one as well.

He is asking about Burj Dubai Downtown (probabaly) and not about the sacalled downtown area of Dubai (to be).

BTW: Emirates Towers ... there are 2 of them, both taller.

Sorry I was thinking about the "downtown" section in the UAE forum: SZR Towers, Burj Dubai Downtown, DIFC and WTC.

Cul, that Chicago "expert" posting above doesn't have a clue and just talk out of his a.. missing no occassion to spam certain threads with his anti-Dubai BS.

Imagine, after three months on the forum only yesterday he thought it will be good to know if Chicago Spire's facade will be made out of concrete or glass & steel. ... imagine

Thanks for the updates. This might be a dumb question, but why isn't the building that beigey colour we see in the model.

I don't think the final colour will be beige.
