It's sad to say, but basically this building will be "under construction" again for the coming period.
This fire was terrible, and I guess more of the interior was damaged than is officially published.

I think it is more than just cleaning. Most, if not all panels will have to be replaced.

2 problems:
1. This building uses concrete in its construction
2. This building did not have planes slam into its side
Now please stop bringing up the topic of 9-11!

Water everywhere in the lobby, and even a sprinkler still on. I don't even want to see what happened to the hotel rooms. This will be very expensive to fix. It is very bad

The cost is going to be massive to bring this building back to it's original form. Even furniture will have to be replaced. I like the idea of Exterior Sprinklers.

The only problem with exterior sprinklers is that they will be expensive and they will be very difficult to maintain due to their hard-to-access location. It is a great idea though

Do they not use smart sprinkler systems though? For a hotel this size and the fact that we're in 2016 would indicate to me that either they do or should.

**Smart sprinkler systems douse water use towhere it's actually needed to prevent unnecessary water damage or water waste.

Why do people think Clorox fixes everything when it does not?

It's 8y/o no wonder. Stricter rules have been implemented after the JLT fire. New buildings with cladding will no longet burn like this.
Btw, EVM stayed there when he visited Dubai.

Why is it that the one time that I don't get the sarcasm is the one time that thousands of people are watching me? Such an epic fail

Can't believe I was there for my birthday a month before the fire. It's weird how some of the skyscrapers I visit in Dubai always catche on fire. First the Torch Tower in Marina and now this.
