Thanks for the pictures Imre. I love how Burj Dubai just looms in the background of the first picture.

No body has wrote anything in this thread in 3 weeks! what a slow consruction pace this building is!!!
but can I tell everyone a secret:
because of the last 3 months period that was given by the government to all companies to get rid of all the illigal workers they have, with over 280,000 cases immigration has delt with the construction companies in Dubai are struglling to keep up.
maybe you notice that all projects ( including Burj Duabi) are almost on hold.

Good that they are dealing with all the abused workers of these construction companies. But has construction really slowed down? I evidently don't see it on the Burj Dubai, with the cladding being put up really fast, but maybe it is the case here in the Index.

I tell you that I check most of those buildings almost daily. I noticed very very slow of growing if any at all! I dont know about Burj dubai, but the board sign still the same until today at 146! I just checked the official website which says 148 floors. Almasah tower at 67 or 78 since long time also. and how long its taking finishing the top of the emirates crown and the hotel of burj dubai?! Maybe I am just being extra ubnoxious, but I feel things are not moving in Dubai these days.

Crown structures are always slow becuase they are complicated. Both of those towers are in such stages. If you think everything is slow, go watch the progress of Al Tayer, or The Citadel in Business Bay. Or Princess Tower for that matter.

Sorry Saeed . I don't see it...Where did you get the 280'000 from?7Days?I've read different numbers...Not all of the illegal workers have gone home , some have been "naturalised" and can stay on a legal basis.Anyway , it's still the summer and the summer is always slow (well , relatively)

May be you guys right, I am worrying too much about the construction speed. But I can tell you, I cant wait to see these projects done to take pictures and send them to friends overseas and tease them with very tall stuff we got. Specially in Canada and U.S
cause I still get the the camel jokes from them, you know like: " do u drive one to work,..... is there a place to park them at home, ..... do u need a driving licence to drive that" stuff like that

Bd is not slow at all for your info, It "looked" slow because of the multiple complicated core setback. Also they have to be as cautious as ever as any slightest error at that height can have a catasrophic consequences. Lastly the level at that height is much higher than the lower level, hence the progress look slow where in fact the rate it rise hasn't really slowed down.

BD will reach 643m at least before new year, rising around 98m since 3rd of sept. Making it the last 4 months of this year as the fastest progress since its begin to rise from the ground

P.S: Btw no one answered me if the red marking on the left is 100m?

Th scaffolding (formwork) is on te 40th floor now. It was on the 37th 4 weeks ago so 3 floors in less then 4 weeks is not really slow.
