Does anyone go to the beaches in Dubai? Lots of chairs no people.
I have to say this building probably does look out of place in Dubai, mainly because its not covered in tat and Gaudy emblems and its probably built to higher spec than most of the recent towers that have popped up. I think its great.

Yes I mean they should paint it WHITE as in the original render. It looks better that way.

No it represents something different for Dubai rather then the same type of architecture its something of a Post Internationalism building which is so simple but yet so cool.

I love everything except for the top part, which just looks awkward. If the borders had gone all the way to the top I would have preferred it, but thats just me. Still love the building though.

I really hope the cladding has a concrete-colored protective film on it that will get peeled off after installation to reveal a white facade. I don't like the current color and think the render is so much better.

Wonder how long it will take to install the shoulders?

lol its been a while since I've checked the progress of this and my first reaction was "WHAT THE?!" when I saw that lol. I think you're right though, if the edging would have been taken all the way it would have brought some harmony to the top and the other three quarters of the building

The top looks awkward now, but from the rendering it should be stunning when all the cladding is put on.

Still I too disslike the "concrete" look right now, it reminds me commie blocks. Yet the rendering seems to look much brighter, hope they are not done with this aspect. As a design, its stunning at least, on of my favorites in UAE, inovative, different, austere and practical

As much I love this building, as much Im dissapointed with the out come!
I mean come on guys, if thats the final color then this building will always look like its underconstruction!
I hate the world financial crisis even it had nothing to do with this stupid color!

I like it. But does stand out somewhat brutalist compared to its more futuristic neighbors.

Wow. Hmmmm. What is the purpose of the building? Is it a condo/hotel mix? It reminds me of something like that. I like the top part more than the bottom part. But it's an interesting design. I like, I like. The design is really nice. I can't say I like it enough.
