"Precast concrete cladding" I would say and it doesn't look polished.

No, it's not polished indeed.

It's obviously precasted, looks like concrete so I would agree on the definition given as "Precast concrete cladding"

No, they are not balconies. Mechanical floors are located there.

Although, to further that point it may be precasted on plastic formwork rather than plywood. This gives it the nice smooth, clean finish but not shiny like it would be if polished.

the concrete at the bottom of the tower looks more like the steel now, looks so elegant.

I think it will look a lot better when the cladding is extended to the top 8 floors. It will have more vertical continuity.

Does anyone know when they're finally going to clad the top 8 floors?

all in all this one has turned out to me as a big disappointment.....i really love nothing about this building. Its too massive for such a skyline. When seen from the gulf it appears to have more width than both Ansaga tower together. The cladding has turned out shitty. It looks just wrong. Am still waiting for the finifhing touches...

The initial renders gave the impression that the cladding was going to be a gleaming stainless steel or similar, which made the tower look very sharp indeed. Understandably, there was some disappointment (dismay?) when the cladding was applied over the raw concrete because it looked to all appearances like, well, concrete.

The (temporary) problem now is that the top section doesn't bear much relation to the rest of the building underneath, but as the glazing is completed the two sections will be integrated visually, at least to some extent. Side-on the tower appears to be very thin, but there's no avoiding the slab-look it has when viewed straight-on. It's simply a massive building. Again, the early renders minimised the bulk so that the final product is not quite the soaring gleaming tower many of us imagined it was going to be.
