I'm guessing that Redfern should be somewhere down under ... well, it was an Aussie (Wood Bagot) who took the white tiles cladded Foster's design and turned it into the dull one we are seeing now.

Ok, I didn't think I was going to have to be so specific, but I was wrong, so I'll correct it: not "concrete" but "concrete- look " Can be panels , gray-growing bushes or small gray aliens that like to be one on top of each other, but the the concept is the same. Sorry for creating confusion

thanks, imre. it looks nice, but the cladding on the upper half of the building still looks largely unfinished. will it stay that way?

So progress is speeding up again? Because it looks like progress has been very slow last months. (or much work on the inside probably)

what a real monster, looks just like the headquarters of an evil corporation, or the Citadel; absolutely beautiful.

I didn't know it was open at the bottom, that you could walk under it. Normally there are only photo's of the top but now 234sale made some of bottom, nice to be able to walk underthrough it!

Everyone seems to hate this building, but I love it. It provides a minimalistic yet strong presence for Dubai that too many of its buildings lack. And God knows I love the bottom of the tower. Norman Foster is the architect, right? If so, then he used the same kind of entrance for the HSBC tower in Hong Kong.
